미국 오리건주 포틀랜드 교통국(Portland Bureau of Transportation)은 2018년 로즈 레인 프로젝트(Rose Lane Project)를 출범하였으며, 프로젝트의 여러 사업 중 하나로 모듈식 버스정류장 설치를 추진. 성장하는 대도시 권역의 대중교통을 포함한 자전거, 보행 등 능동형 교통수단(Active Transportation Mode) 이용자를 위한 서비스 향상 기대
1) 포틀랜드 교통국(PBOT)은 스페인 바르셀로나에 기반을 둔 ZICLA사에서 완전 재활용 플라스틱으로 제작한 규격화된 부품(모듈)을 구입하여 지정 위치에서 부품들을 조립하여 버스정류장의 승하차 공간으로 설치
2) 버스 승객이 보행로에서 도로 방향으로 나와 모듈식 플랫폼 바닥 위에 서서 대기할 수 있으므로 버스가 정류장 쪽으로 접근하기 위해 차선을 변경할 필요가 없음
3) 퍼스널 모빌리티: 미국 교통 분야에서 마이크로 모빌리티(Micro Mobility)로 자주 일컬어지며, 자전거 이외 주로 전기 등을 동력으로 하는 1인용 교통수단
